                                                              About Atlanta Georgia

Atlanta's recent rapid growth along with its longtime history has turned the city into a massive web of neighborhoods, subdivisions and communities. You'll often find little in common from one street to the next in some areas, while other areas may maintain something of a totally familiar feel for as much as several miles. Distinctive and delightful characteristics abound through intown neighborhoods like Morningside, Virginia Highlands, Little Five Points and Midtown. Reach north and you'll find the noted nightclub district within the Buckhead area - an area that to its contrast also features many million dollar upscale homes including our own Governor's mansion. Sandy Springs and Dunwoody, though considered suburbs, are still well in the mix of intown living - you'll need to go at least another 20 miles further before you'll see much noticeable undeveloped property.

Wherever you go though, you will find a city within The City. You'd rarely ever need to go more than a couple of miles to find your favorite grocery, dry cleaner or coffee house. Need the arts, a ball game or concert? Don't worry - just jump on one of the interstates and you'll be downtown in minutes.

Just a few decades back that ever-appreciated air conditioning was developed. Many consider that to have had a tremendous impact on how people thought about living in the very warm climate of the south. Atlanta was heavily affected. With two of the largest lakes in Georgia, the Chattahoochee National Forest and the north Georgia mountains nearby, the Gulf coast and Atlantic shoreline just hours away and a central location in the southeast, Atlanta became a rapidly growing hub. Hartsfield International Airport is now one of the busiest airports in the world! Yet, because of all the trees throughout our city, Atlanta is often called the greenest big city in the U.S.

Though we've had huge population growth over several decades, the Atlanta real estate market is still very reasonably priced compared to other large metropolitan areas. A respectable two bedroom condo in New York's Manhattan might run you $1 million+. Atlanta real estate would offer you the same property for perhaps $250k-$300k. There is still a strong belief that a true Atlanta real estate boom is not far off. Real estate investors are happily scooping up properties just waiting for their big retirement dollars to come in.

Being a world-class city, you'll certainly notice a wide range of folks here. Many languages, views and ideologies, and all ready, willing and able to speak with or about them at the drop of a hat. Known as a melting pot, the heart of the New South IS Atlanta and you're always welcome.
